Gajah Gallery is pleased to announce its participation at Art Fair Philippines 2019, featuring a superb selection of the latest works from prominent contemporary artists based in Southeast Asia. These works will be showcased at two locations:

    Gajah Gallery Booth 57, Level

teamLab Special Exhibition, Globe Platinum Booth 1, Level 4

In the Philippines, Gajah Gallery will debut bronze sculptures created by renowned Filipino artist Jigger Cruz, during his recent residency at Yogya Art Lab. With thick layering and bold impressions, Cruz’s signature themes of defacement and vandalization are easily identifiable in these works, furthering his practice within a new medium. Bali-based American artist Ashley Bickerton premiers new works featuring his signature painted silver-white women, drawing attention towards foreigners’ fetishization of the island and ensuing disenchantment for a blighted paradise. This year, Japanese art collective and ultra-technologists teamLab join Gajah for their first exhibition in the Philippines, featuring two digital renderings of three-dimensional space; what the collective refers to as “a way of seeing the world that lures us in.”

As the paragon dealer of South East Asian art, Gajah Gallery presents an outstanding roster of contemporary artists, highlighting concerns and observations specific to our region. For the 2019 edition of Art Fair Philippines, the Gallery will exhibit Ashley Bickerton (USA), Jigger Cruz (Philippines), Erizal As (Indonesia), Suzann Victor (Singapore), Ibrahim (Indonesia), Sabri Idrus (Malaysia), Fika Ria Santika (Indonesia), Yunizar (Indonesia) and teamLab (Japan).
