Gajah Gallery is set to make a powerful return to Art Fair Philippines 2025, taking place from 21–23 February 2025 at Ayala Triangle, Makati City. This year’s presentation unites an outstanding lineup of artists whose works push the boundaries of contemporary expression, engaging with the ever-evolving narratives of Southeast Asia’s artistic landscape.

The presentation brings together artists whose works traverse multiple dimensions—challenging conventions of abstraction, merging two- and three-dimensional forms, and reflecting on the complexities of urban life. These thematic intersections speak to both Philippine audiences and the broader global art community, underscoring the shared concerns and artistic visions that transcend geographical boundaries.

A key highlight this year is the inclusion of artists who have collaborated with Yogya Art Lab (YAL), Gajah Gallery’s art space and foundry in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Several artists—Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera (Philippines), Jane Lee (Singapore), Marina Cruz (Philippines), Mark Justiniani (Philippines), and Yunizar (Indonesia)—have partnered with YAL to create works for the fair. Among these, BenCab and Marina Cruz will each unveil their latest bronze sculptures, while Mark Justiniani will present his first bronze sculpture—works that mark a pivotal expansion of their artistic practices into the sculptural realm.

Beyond these sculptural pieces, the exhibition spans generations of artistic voices—from Yunizar, a defining figure in Indonesia’s contemporary art history, to emerging talents such as Mahalakshmi Kannappan from Singapore and Kayleigh Goh from Malaysia. This dynamic selection fosters a vibrant dialogue between artistic legacies and contemporary innovation.

By championing these exceptional artists, Gajah Gallery continues its mission to place Southeast Asian art on the global stage. With a steadfast belief in their capacity to captivate international audiences, the gallery is committed to strengthening confidence among collectors and solidifying the presence of Southeast Asian art within the global art market.
