Artist Bio

(b. 1993, Padang, Indonesia)
Ridho Rizki pursued his art education at the Faculty of Fine Arts, at the Institut Seni Indonesia (The Indonesia Institute of the Arts) in Yogyakart. His artistic achievements have been recognised through several prestigious accolades, including the Emerging Artist Award at Bakaba #6, organised by the Sakato Art Community, Yogyakarta, in 2017. He was also a finalist for the Young Artist Award at RedBase Yogyakarta in 2016 and received the Best Drawing Fundamental II award at ISI Yogyakarta in both 2014 and 2015.
Rizki’s paintings evoke the qualities of still-life compositions; however, his focus extends beyond the symbolic to the dramatic and optical aspects of objects. By merging elements of pointillism, impressionism, and still-life painting, he has garnered attention from regional collectors for his technical precision and nuanced execution. While his earlier works were primarily monochromatic, Rizki is currently exploring a technique that utilises solid colour particles to emulate the way the human eye perceives form, further deepening his engagement with visual perception.
Rizki currently lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
