    (b. 1992, Jombang, Indonesia)

OGGZGOY pursued his passion for art at the  Institut Seni Indonesia (The Indonesia Institute of the Arts) in Yogyakarta, where he studied in the Fine Arts Department, Painting Study Programme, from 2014 to 2021. Today, he continues to develop his artistic practice with an unrelenting commitment to creating works that will endure as a lasting legacy. In 2016, OGGZGOY ventured beyond the confines of the studio and into the streets—an urban space he finds endlessly compelling and ripe for artistic intervention.

For OGGZGOY, the city is an open canvas, filled with spaces that invite experimentation and transformation. At the heart of his work lies a fascination with the absurd and the unconventional. His ongoing exploration of the “testicle” as a metaphor speaks to notions of confinement, restriction, and the pressures of modern life—trapped within a chaotic, unyielding environment. This concept has given rise to a recurring character in his work, one that embodies the struggles and turbulence of urban existence. Set against the backdrop of a dense, grimy, and claustrophobic cityscape, this figure becomes a visceral reflection of contemporary society.

His recent exhibitions include solo shows As If at Gajah Gallery Yogyakarta and How to OGGZ at All About Art Gallery Singapore, as well as group exhibitions such as From Indonesia with Colours at VLAB Gallery, Madrid, Spain; Modern and Contemporary Art Festival in the Philippines; and Tutti Frutti at Tang Gallery, Bangkok, Thailand.

OGGZGOY currently lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
