그의 작품은 퀸즐랜드 미술관 | 현대미술관(Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, QAGOMA), 빅토리아 국립미술관(National Gallery of Victoria, NGV), 호주 국립미술관(National Gallery of Australia, NGA), 뉴사우스웨일스 미술관(Art Gallery of New South Wales, AGNSW), (Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, MAGNT)
Hahan’s multidisciplinary practice brings together the visual language of popular culture and underground comics with the iconography of Javanese mythology. Layered with satire and irreverent humour, his works examine the social and economic forces that shape contemporary life and the global art world.
His works are held in major public collections including the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), National Gallery of Australia (NGA), Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW), and the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT). He lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Public Sentiment, Planted and Harvested Daily

(Public Sentiment, Planted and Harvested Daily)
Public Sentiment, Planted and Harvested Daily examines the digital sphere as a space where public sentiment is not only expressed but also shaped and circulated.
A fragmented figure, composed of seemingly different faces, gradually resolves into the repetition of a single visage, blurring the boundary between collective expression and manufactured consensus.
Using sowing and harvesting as a metaphor, the work explores how opinions are cultivated, circulated, and made visible online, asking who determines which ideas take root and which remain unseen.

Designed to Adapt
2026
Acrylic on Canvas
80 x 120 cm
Drawing upon the history of the colonial acclimatisation garden, Designed to Adapt revisits the movement of plants across territories in the service of imperial trade and scientific enquiry. The painting references Raden Saleh’s Orangery in Gotha (1844), reimagining the greenhouse as a habitat occupied by hybrid organisms in a state of continual transformation.
Here, the greenhouse becomes both a historical setting and a conceptual framework. It invites consideration of the ways environments are constructed to regulate growth and adaptation, as well as how such histories continue to shape contemporary understandings of nature and cultivation.
