Gallery Assistant (Philippines)

Location: Manila 
Reports To: Gallery Manager
Job Type: Full-time

As Gallery Assistant in the Philippines, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the Philippine and Southeast Asian art scenes. You will help foster relationships with Philippine artists, collectors, and cultural institutions; coordinate exhibitions and projects with Philippine-based artists; stage shows featuring Southeast Asian art in the Philippines; and promote the gallery’s artists and events.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Artist Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with artists in the Philippines, with the goal of promoting both emerging and established talent. Assist in liaising between the gallery and Philippine artists.
  • Exhibition Coordination: Collaborate with the gallery team to stage exhibitions featuring Filipino artists, as well as art fairs in the Philippines. This includes coordinating logistics, shipments, and overseeing installation.
  • Sales: Assist with Gallery sales.
  • Promotion: Help promote the gallery exhibitions, art fairs, and other projects involving Filipino artists through social media, press releases, and other partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts Management, Fine Arts, Art History or a related field preferred
  • Proven experience in the art industry, including gallery work, curatorial projects, or related roles 
  • Strong network and understanding of the Philippine art scene
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with strong project management abilities
  • Passion for Philippine and Southeast Asian art

Design Intern

Location: Singapore
Reports To: Design Manager
Job Type: Internship

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with designing collateral for the exhibitions and projects 
  • Help with administrative tasks and day to day operations
  • Assist in preparing for exhibitions in the gallery
  • Assist in preparing for art fairs 
  • 3-4 day work week including 1 weekend day (either Sat and Sun). Interns are also expected to attend most gallery-organized events (usually 2 in a month)

Qualifications:

  • Passion for the arts and a desire to be actively involved in the art community
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and a basic knowledge of Abode Applications primarily Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator
  • Strong graphic design skills
  • Patient, hardworking and willing to learn
  • Basic knowledge of Southeast Asian art and artists is a bonus
  • May be required to work on public holidays
  • May be required to work on special events

Administrative Intern

Location: Singapore and/or Jakarta
Reports To: Registrar and/or Artist Liaison 
Job Type: Internship

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in exhibition installations and art handling
  • Assist the Gallery openings, special events and meetings, such as the preparation of beverages, room reservations, press packets, catalogues, etc.
  • Provide information by answering general questions and requests
  • Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • 3-4 day work week including 1 weekend day (either Sat and Sun). Interns are also expected to attend most gallery-organized events (usually 2 in a month)

Qualifications:

  • Passion for the arts and a desire to be actively involved in the art community
  • Candidates should be able to use Microsoft Office, Adobe programmes
  • Patient, hardworking and willing to learn
  • Willing to perform hands-on tasks
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Southeast Asian art and artists is a bonus
  • May be required to work on public holidays
  • May be required to work on special events
