Women in Revolution

Gajah Gallery is delighted to announce its “Woman of Revolution” exhibition, consisting of 15 mixed media, socio-realist posters from as early as the 1950s, which depict the role of women in a country struggling for independence and victory in war. The works shown have been produced by the artists in support of the Vietnamese army after 1945 and the artists went on excursions to villages to paint them. Some of the works may have been done in Hanoi and considering their move from country to city, it is amazing that they survived.
