Gajah Gallery is pleased to present our upcoming exhibition- ‘Drawing Ground’. Through a survey of 30 works by Srihadi Soedarsono and Chua Ek Kay, two illustrious artists of Southeast Asia, Drawing Ground examines the relationship between the formalistic. Whilst at first glance there is a clear difference in their practices and career trajectories, this exhibition displays their shared grounds in the landscape practice. Their landscapes have assumed metaphysical, spiritual and ideological resonances, and these continue to be influential in shaping current thought and practices about the genre.
