    Artist Bio

Born and raised in Bandung, Prilla Tania studied Fine Art and graduated in 2001. She began her career as an artist in 2003 in the same city, actively participating in both group and solo exhibitions, as well as residency programs in Indonesia and abroad. Her practice primarily engages with contemporary media including video, performance, and photography, often combining multiple forms, though she has also explored other materials like paper, cardboard, and fabric. The work frequently explores themes of daily life, with a particular focus on food as a cultural and social narrative.

Since 2018, artistic activity has slowed, though interest in food-related issues continues. In 2016, together with Adjo Akasia, Prilla began managing Leuwigoeng Garden, envisioned as a laboratory and a space to collect various food (and clothing) plants. Since 2023, Prilla Tania has been teaching gardening at Arunika Waldorf Elementary School in Bandung.
