Agnes Hansella

(b. 1992)

Agnes Hansella studied audio for film at Institut Kesenian Jakarta and Vancouver Film School Canada. After experiencing hearing fatigues in 2017, she tries knotting with her mother who just start learning on the same year. Agnes found connection with the technique and continue to knot ever since. Her work explores macrame techniques and materials used for knotting, creating collages of pattern and textures. Agnes has work with some of the top brands such as Hermes and Louis Vuitton. In 2024 she was selected as one out of five winners of Basoeki Abdullah Art Award. Lives and work in Jakarta, Indonesia.
