Bottlesmoker is an electronic music duo comprising Aggung Suherman and Ryan Adzani, formed in Bandung, Indonesia, in 2008. Known for their experimental approach to sound, Bottlesmoker continually pushes musical boundaries, exploring new sonic possibilities with an inventive spirit. A distinctive aspect of their work is the adaptation of traditional Indonesian instruments, which are seamlessly integrated into electronic compositions, resulting in a unique fusion of ancestral and contemporary elements.

The duo has undertaken an innovative exploration into plant-responsive sound, developing music compositions generated through interactions with living plants, producing melodies and harmonies.

Through continuous reinvention, Bottlesmoker has cultivated a loyal audience both in Indonesia and internationally. Their work invites audiences into immersive musical experiences that seamlessly blend electronic, traditional, and organic elements.

Bottlesmoker has performed at numerous international music festivals, including Laneway, Transmusicales, Big Mountain Music, Playtime, and Jai Thep, and has supported acts such as Ladytron, Architecture in Helsinki, Battles, and M83. Their practice also extends into the visual and sound art realms, with installations and performances featured in events such as Nu Substance at Common Room (Bandung), Bandung New Emerging at Selasar Sunaryo, the NGV Triennial at the National Gallery of Victoria, the Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art at QAGOMA (Brisbane), and Lokananta Remastered at both Lokananta Museum and the National Museum of Indonesia.
