    (b. 1996, Padang, Indonesia)

    Norma Fauzain Padang, began her studies at the Faculty of Fine Art at the Indonesian Institute of Art Padangpanjang from 2014 to 2018. She then pursued postgraduate studies at the Yogyakarta Art Institute from 2020 to 2022. Is an emerging artist, she explores the emotions and experiences she encounters, responding to both personal and external stories as forms of self-reflection. These emotions translate into creative ideas that she brings to life in her artwork, primarily using acrylic, paper, charcoal, and pencil.

    Norma has  participated in several group exhibitions across the region, including “Pesona Riau dalam Warna” in Riau, “Asean-China Theatre Week” in Beijing, “Face to Space” with Gonjongrupa at Taman Budaya Padang, and “Baduo Batino” at Cafe Dapue Kopi in Padang. Other exhibitions include “Wakiri” at Taman Budaya Padang, “Sasanak Art” in Padang Panjang, and “Rohan Kudus” in Padang Panjang. She also exhibited in “Jampuik Tabao” at Bentara Budaya Bali, “Silek” at Taman Budaya Padang, and “Kapacak” at Tambo Art Center in Bukittinggi. Additionally, Norma has showcased her work in exhibitions such as “Binnel Sumatera, Peradapan Kampung” at Taman Budaya Padang, “Selamat Ulang Tahun” in Padang Panjang, “Pustaka Rumah Anjuang” in Padang, and at the “Hompimpa” exhibition at Greenhouse Yogyakarta. Her exhibitions also include collaborations with various communities and galleries, including “Mirachel Prin” at Jogja Gallery, “Upajiwa” at Galeri Upajiwa Yogyakarta, and “Marandai Pajang” with Sakato Art Community in Yogyakarta, among many others. Norma’s art continues to contribute to the vibrant contemporary art scene in Indonesia.
