Indian Summer is an art exhibition that captures the uniqueness of Indian contemporary art. Artists presented in this show include KG Subramanyan, Sunil Das, Jogen Chowdhury, Ganesh Pyne, Bijon Chowdhury, Rathin Kanji, Paritosh Sen, Partha Pratim Deb, Gobardhan Ash, Biman Das and Maity. On display are works ranging from the pseudo-classicism of the Bengal School to some exhibiting Western influences, displaying the mergence of a post-modern Indian contemporary art lies in its pivotal role in revealing the imagery of India’s hidden harmony amid anarchy. The artists endeavour to capture the journey of this energy through imagery. More than 45 paintings and sculptures from India will be displayed.
