Sel Yoon-Suak

(b. 1995, Indonesia)

Originally an architect, Sel Yoon-Suak started painting out of curiosity in 2019. She was fueled by her desire to create chaotic, uncalculated lines and shapes—exactly the imperfection she had avoided for years while studying and working as an architect. Since then, painting has become liberating for her, and she continues to evolve as a self-taught abstract artist. Characterized by its spontaneous gestures and black and white color palette, her work has been exhibited in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bandung. Most notably, she has exhibited at the National Museum of Indonesia. She now lives and works in Tangerang.
